View the Fireworks like a local
Uncategorised
You plan on getting down for the Docklands fireworks, you’ve read all the City of Melbourne advice, you’ve checked out the Visit Docklands Melbourne facebook, then you’ve arrived to a mass of people and you don’t know where to go to get the best view. And now the game has changed because the Fireworks are only off Etihad stadium. Well here’s a locals’ guide to some of the lesser known spots for the best view and experience.
- The grassed hillocks in front of the Docklands library and the Marina. Set up a relaxed picnic area and enjoy an uninterrupted view only 300m from the crowds on Harbour esplanade
- The Docklands restaurants – both sides. Enjoy some nice food, a beverage or two and then watch the Fireworks either by stepping outside or getting in early – restaurants like the Black Cod, Solidaire, Mustard O Mint, Cargo, Berth and Oscar’s table
- Find a friend who has a view like this, or alternatively, book one of the water view apartments through one of our many providers on this website
- Ron Barassi Snr Park – over 2 hectares of lush grassed sporting grounds with an uninterrupted view of Etihad, a massive kids play ground and only 300m walk from the end of the line Tram Stop (35, 70 and 86)
