This is exactly what you can experience on a sensory tour through Dialogue in the Dark! The tour lasts for about an hour, but its effects will last a lifetime.

Armed with a white cane and a guide with blindness or low vision, you will navigate life’s everyday challenges and activities in complete darkness, providing a thought provoking, imaginative and educational experience.

In the beginning, the total absence of visual information is a shock. Gradually though, you’ll learn to adapt and develop coping skills, insights and strategies as you experience the world through your other senses.

Presented in partnership with Guide Dogs Australia, Dialogue in the Dark is a global social enterprise, with the goal of sparking a greater social dialogue by raising awareness for diversity in the community, whilst providing employment opportunities for people with low vision or blindness. In Melbourne, all profits from ticket sales go back to Guide Dogs Australia and the ongoing operation of Dialogue in the Dark.

In addition to the sensory tour, Dialogue in the Dark offers school excursions and workshops for business groups all set in complete darkness. Led by skilled facilitators, groups are encouraged to work together to enhance problem solving, communication, leadership and social skills.
