City of Melbourne – War on Waste
Uncategorised
To help fight the war on waste, City of Melbourne is launching a $50,000 Single-use Waste Reduction Fund to help retail and hospitality businesses reduce their impact on the environment.
Single-use waste refers to any product that is intended to be used only once and then discarded. This includes:
- shopping bags
- coffee cups
- plastic cups
- straws
- packaging
- bottled water.
Eligible retail and hospitality businesses can apply for up to $2000 funding to reduce the usage of any single-use waste item in their day-to-day operations and services. Examples include:
- purchase of re-usable items
- a customer-based campaign to promote available recyclable or re-usable items
- other innovative measures that meet the program goals.
Application forms and details of the fund are available at this link.
