Melbourne is the Christmas capital of Australia, with our Christmas Festival comprising a centrepiece tree, events, activations and the famous projections, transforming the city from mid-November to Christmas Day.

​Our marketing campaign aims to draw visitors into the municipality to enjoy the unique festive experience our city offers.

How to get involved

Applications to be part of the 2017 Christmas campaign open on 25 August and close on 7 September. The application form is available for preview so you can plan your submission now.

More than 400 businesses participated in the 2016 Christmas campaign which delivered:

  • 80,000 visits to our What’s On website
  • 123,000 visits to our blog
  • more than 10 million impressions through paid and organic social media reach
  • more than 20 million impressions through digital advertising
  • 2.5 million contacts through out of home advertising
  • the Christmas guide to more than 400,000 people.
